Heather, Neue Schule’s founder, started out with one of the largest bit banks in the UK. After high demand for customised bits Heather began to design her own range. Her experiences running a stud producing dressage horses and conducting remedial work with ex-racehorses developed Heather’s intrigue into how bits work in the horse’s mouth and how in fact many traditional bitting practices were not only common misconceptions but detrimental to the horse. Working with physicists, neuroscientists and CAD technologies Heather has continued to develop ergonomically designed bits that prioritise the comfort and wellbeing of horses.
